Death with Dignity

I was surprised last night that so many of our thoughts on "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" reminded me of the Death with Dignity bill proposed in our elections yesterday, because it's in some ways an opposite situation of the same questions of existentialism (our word of the evening defined by Thomas). Emerald questions if anti-gerasone is "against nature," while in our world an opposite drug, one that would end life prematurely, is in some ways under the same debate. The link above is this morning's Boston Herald article on the bill, which was narrowly voted against yesterday in Massachusetts. I know you all may be tired with political debate, so this is just something to mull over. One of those "big questions," you know?

modern communication separates people. but sometimes brings them together.

EPICAC:
a lonely machine sitting alone writes poems in imagination for whole night.

Paper Inspirations- "Next Door" and "EPICAC"
From our meeting on Saturday, I picked up these ideas-
Next Door
- power of music, song
-inconclusive power of innocence
-volume as weakness
-silence as cover
-a blanketing hold or a thing on a list of things Not To Be Said
-magnification of sight (the microscope), sound, personality (is Paul a boy or a man?)
EPICAC
-plagiarism law
-sevens and clicks
- AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN
-A TRANSFER of WORTH- a series of numbers (776, 434, 927.54= the cost of EPICAC)
-inability to fulfill your purpose
-love=persistence+obsession?
-texture-"love is a hawk with velvet claws/love is a rock with hearts and veins/love is a lion with satin jaws/love is a storm with silken reins..."
(For those of you who were absent, we read "Next Door" and "EPICAC" aloud and threw ideas around in the form of paper balls... we should make the throwing a bit more festive next time! Feel free to add new ideas/inspirations from "Next Door" and EPICAC")
